CUPERTINO, CA – The Friends of Stevens Creek Trail is pleased to announce the appointment of Rajiv Mathur to the position of executive director. He succeeds Aaron Grossman, who retired after 13 years of service as executive director.

Mathur has been engaged with Bay Area nonprofits for the last three years. As an Encore fellow, he served for two years as interim executive director at Playing At Learning, a nonprofit that inspires youth to pursue careers in STEM. His appointment to the Friends’ position is also through the Encore Fellowships Program. Encore.org matches skilled, seasoned professionals to high-impact, engagements at social-service organizations.

Mathur also volunteers with the South Asian Heart Center and a few other non-profits in Silicon Valley. Prior to moving to nonprofits, Rajiv served in executive leadership roles at CMC Limited, Satyam Computer Services Limited and Infosys Limited, all information-technology companies.

“The Friends organization is fortunate to have someone with Rajiv’s extensive management expertise, organizational skills and nonprofit experience join us in this important role,” said Steve Garrity, president of the Friends Board of Directors. “His enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and fresh insights will accelerate our evolution as an organization dedicated to the continued development of a safe, scenic and accessible trail in the heart of Silicon Valley.”
