Obesity affects one in three American adults and can lead to serious health risks including diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, and even some cancers. In California, 25% of the adult population is affected by obesity. Join us and our presenting sponsor, El Camino Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital, on Saturday, September 22, 2018, as we walk to raise awareness of obesity and learn more about the treatment and prevention options available in our community. Early Bird Registration is $15 and ends 8/22/2018. Use promo code FUNDRAISE when registration online. This is a "set your own pace" event. We encourage you to walk (or run) as much or as little as you'd like, no pressure! There is will a raffle and a silent auction. By supporting the ASMBS Foundation's Walk from Obesity you are helping to improve the public understanding of obesity and giving us a chance to educate individuals on effective treatment and prevention plans. Your support also helps to improve the understanding of obesity in the scientific and medical fields. Through research and education, we are able to better understand this disease and how to combat it.
